Friday Wrap-Up: Headin’ Down to Tucson….

Who would have thought Tucson could throw such a great book party? This will be a quickie post, because I’m actually heading down to the Festival of Books in a few hours and need to get to packing. I haven’t told Mr. BookPairing yet, but there will definitely be a bag devoted solely to books. Absolutely.

There are so many great authors that are going to be there, but I’m most excited to see Diana Gabaldon, Patrick Rothfuss, Kevin Hearne, and Mary Doria Russell. My hands are already getting sweaty just thinking about the lineup and I might just faint with Mrs. Russell. More likely, I’ll just awkwardly tell her how much I love her books and then walk away all red-faced.

If you’ll be down there this weekend, I’d love to meet you! I’ll be at the following sessions for sure:

- Saturday 10 AM: Triumph and Tragedy in Fiction

- Saturday 2:30 PM: Beauty with a Bow and Arrow: Gender Roles in Sci-Fi and Fantasy

- Sunday 10 AM: Women in Western Literature

    I am so jealous that you get to meet Kevin Hearne! He sounds like he’s a fun guy to hang out with.

    I think there are book festivals and events around Minneapolis and St. Paul, but… I haven’t really looked into anything. I should, though. I should.

      I’m trying to read his first book as quickly as possible before the festival, buuut once I’m done I’ll actually be able to go back and read all your reviews on the series. Have been afraid of spoilers before!

      You certainly, undoubtedly, should. I get to obsess about books all weekend. There’s nothing better than that :D

    Diana Gabaldon! I just started reading Outlander, great story. I wish I lived somewhere closer to events like that.
