Friday Wrap-Up: Giveaway Edition!

Don’t you love the feeling of getting new books in the mail? It’s addictive. So imagine my excited face the other day upon receiving not one, but TWO, books in the mail that I had completely forgotten were coming. (Kickstarter, by the way, is great for that delayed gratification.)

And not just two books, but an uber fantastic set of BookRiot’s new book, Start Here: Read Your Way into 25 Amazing Authors. Let’s, shall we?

We’ve got Erin Morgenstern giving us the dirt on where to start with Neil Gaiman (match made in heaven) and Kit Steinkeller (one of my favorite book bloggers) dishing out recs for Stephen King. I’m also really excited about the chapters on Ray Bradbury, Arthur Miller, and Margaret Atwood.

Why do you care? Well, I have twooo copies don’t I? And here, in smashing sequence are twooo puppies posing with what could potentially be your copy of the book (promise there was no drool involved)!

Okay, I narrowed it down to two: George RR Martin and Mira Grant/Seanan McGuire. With GRRM, it’s an intimidation thing. Everyone who’s read him and knows me says I’ll love GoT, but DAYUM are those books meaty! And I really want to read Mira Grant’s Newsflesh trilogy, but I’m having trouble taking the plunge from zombie movies to zombie books. But since I’ve chewed my way through half of The Walking Dead graphic novels now, I’m feeling better about making the transition.

NOW GIVE ME FREE THINGS I DON’T CARE IF WE ACTUALLY KNOW EACH OTHER IRL NO FINE PRINT HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I keep trying to get in to Dostoyevsky but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Maybe this post will give me the motivation, finally.

I would love to get hard copy of this because I know I’ll be referencing it for years! I’ve always wanted to read Gabriel Garcia Marquez and shamelessly haven’t read any of his books! Also, your dogs are gorgeous!
